For a national security strategy

Today, at Montecitorio, in the presence of the President of the Republic, Sergio Mattarella, the Minister of Defense, Guido Crosetto, spoke at the conference presenting the report “For a national security strategy”.

"Mr. President, your authoritative presence allows us to address the issue of drafting the National Security Strategy from a different perspective. It is not just a technical document or a tool destined to expire at the end of a legislative term: it is a collective reflection on our identity as a nation. It is an act of responsibility towards our history, towards who we are today, and towards who we intend to become. It is a political tool in the noblest sense of the term, capable of embodying and projecting to the world what Italy is and what it intends to continue to represent: a credible, responsible actor guided by an ethical vision of its role in the global context. It means charting a clear course in a complex and unstable world, where not everyone plays by the same rules and on the basis of the same values. It means protecting the pillars of our prosperity - good governance, social cohesion, and the well-being of citizens - in a manner consistent with the constitutional values that define us. Ultimately, it is an attempt to cultivate the soil in which trees can grow, the shade of which none of us will see, but whose fruits future generations will be able to reap" said Minister Crosetto in his speech.

The presentation of the Futuri Probabili Association's report was attended by the President of the Chamber of Deputies, Lorenzo Fontana, the President of Futuri Probabili-Association for Human Capital Formation, Luciano Violante, and Giovanna Iannantuoni, President of the Conference of Italian University Rectors, who gave a keynote speech.
