"Once again, Italy demonstrates through concrete action its humanitarian commitment.
Three aircraft of the Italian Air Force are flying to transfer to our country children from the Gaza Strip who are in urgent need of medical care. In the evening, the young patients will arrive in Italy to be assisted thanks to a complex operation made possible by a collective and silent effort.
Behind every mission like this there are faces, names, stories: children who have known suffering too early and who today find in Italy an outstretched hand, a safe place, a concrete possibility of care and of future.
My deepest gratitude goes to the women and men of the Defense Ministry and to all those who, with competence, humanity, and dedication, make possible such interventions even in difficult contexts.
An operation made possible thanks to the synergistic work with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, the Ministry of the Interior, the Ministry of Health, Civil Protection, the Italian Red Cross, and the healthcare facilities involved.
It is the demonstration of how Italy, when needed, knows how to move as one team, united in the values of solidarity and of life." Thus stated the Minister of Defense, Guido Crosetto.
