“Today I’m vey proud to witness the signing of this agreement”, Undersecretary of State for Defence Matteo Perego di Cremnago said on the occasion of the signing of the agreement between Italian and UAE’s defence sector companies which took place at Palazzo Marina. The Undersecretary attended the formalization of the agreement between Hamad Al Marar, EDGE CEO, and Pierroberto Folgiero, FINCANTIERI CEO, as delegated by Defence Minister Guido Crosetto
“The agreement between Fincantieri and Edge group lays the foundations to develop cooperation of strategic breadth in the sector of military units and connected systems. This agreement is the framework within which these two important industrial giants can develop innovative solutions in the naval sector jointly, to the benefit of domestic and international markets, leveraging on the ability to transfer know-how and technologies, with clear employment gains”, he added.
“This industrial agreement – the Undersecretary, said to conclude his speech- reflects the political will to by the two countries to consolidate and strengthen cooperation relations in the maritime sector launched last year on the occasion of the visit of the Prime Minister and Defence Minister. A significant synergy between Italy and the United Arab Emirates, which defines new tracks for possible important strategic, structured cooperation in all Defence domains, aiming to develop the innovative technologies indispensable to contribute to global security and tackle the challenges facing the international community”.
