Eighty Years of the Republic and Its Armed Forces: A book that tells the story of Italy from 1946 to the present
80 Years of the Republic. A special anniversary, a book to mark the occasion.
To mark the 80th anniversary of the Italian Republic, the Ministry of Defense has published the book “Eighty Years of the Republic and Its Armed Forces (1946–2026)“, a work that traces the country’s history through the role played by its institutions and armed forces over the past eighty years.
“Eighty years are not many, when viewed through the lens of history. For Italy, however, they have been decisive years, during which our republican identity was built, step by step.
Leafing through these pages means rediscovering who we have been and better understanding who we want to be. To those who read this volume, my hope is that they will recognize themselves in this history: a history made up of events, but also of courage, responsibility, and trust in the future. Accompanying the narrative are photographs depicting the national and international missions and operations of our Armed Forces.” So said Minister Guido Crosetto.
Enriched by a rich selection of images dedicated to the main national and international missions and operations of the Italian Armed Forces, the volume bears witness to the constant commitment of the men and women of the Defense in the service of the Nation, peace, and security, offering the reader a glimpse into the evolution of the Italian Republic from 1946 to the present day.
