The adoption of Artificial Intelligence is no longer a technological choice, but an essential strategic and political imperative for the future of national defence and for effectively addressing growing geopolitical challenges.

The document entitled “AI and Defence: Defence Strategy on Artificial Intelligence” - strongly promoted by the Minister of Defence, Guido Crosetto - therefore represents a comprehensive and ambitious framework defining a course of action to be implemented immediately and completed within a limited timeframe, aimed at the systemic and systematic integration of AI within the Defence sector.

This strategy is intended to serve as a decisive mandate to equip the Ministry of Defence as a whole with cutting-edge, secure and resilient systems, ensuring national defence and making a decisive contribution to international stability in a context of rapid change and increasing threats.
