Defence Minister Guido Crosetto and French Minister of the Armed Forces Sébastien Lecornu this morning laid two wreaths at Monte Mario French Military Cemetery to commemorate the 80th anniversary of Rome Liberation and honour French military who fell during the battle.
“On 14 June 1944 Rome was liberated with the contribution of the French Expeditionary Corps. That victory wasn’t just a military one: our freedom, democratic and justice values also prevailed. Respect and gratitude for those who fought here, many of whom rest in this cemetery”. Thus Minister Crosetto during his speech at the French Military Cemetery.
