COSMO-SkyMed: the third second-generation satellite successfully launched

Mission accomplished: the third second-generation COSMO-SkyMed satellite was successfully launched last night from Vandenberg Space Force Base in California.

“A milestone of great importance for Italy. Thanks to its dual use—civilian and military—the COSMO-SkyMed radar constellation strengthens the nation’s radar observation capabilities in support of security, defense, and emergency management.
The program represents a virtuous model of cooperation between the Ministry of Defense, the Italian Space Agency, and national industry, capable of integrating technological innovation and security, generating strategic value for the country". Said Minister Guido Crosetto.
