Ceremony for the 163rd Anniversary of the Italian Army

Defence Minister Guido Crosetto attended the ceremony for the 163rd Anniversary of the Italian Army.

"The world has changed and the Army, with the other Armed Forces, is called to evolve and accept the challenges implied by that change. It is a challenge that involves all the Institution, aiming to guarantee security and a future based on peace. Let me thank all of you”, Minister Crosetto declared in his speech for the ceremony of the 163rd Anniversary of the Italian Army which took place at the Mlitary Racecourse “Gen. C.A. Pietro Giannattasio”, in the presence of civilian, military and religious authorities.

“You are not heroes, you are ordinary people who wear their uniforms and honour them day by day, on behalf of, and to defend the State, Republic and Democratic Institutions: this is for you to remember and be proud of, and everyone, today and whenever they see you working among people, in peacekeeping, security and stability operations, in Italy and abroad, must remember it. It is a must for everybody, to always remember and thank you for all you do to serve the country”, the Minister added.
