Bulgaria: Training for NATO Multinational Battle Group

9th Infantry Regiment Bari’s Italian Contingent implemented a number of training activities in the territory of Bulgaria. In fact, a one-week training recently conducted in Novo Selo training area has ended recently. The session saw the deployment of various components of the NATO Battle Group: an heavy mortars platoon; sharpshooters team; two Surveillance and Visual Target Acquisition units and Tactical Air Control Party (TACP) units from Italian and Croatian Army contingents.
Italy leads the Battle Group-Bulgaria, part of NATO’s enhanced Vigilance Activities since October 2022. For the national aspects of the mission, the Italian contingent operates under the Joint Operations Command.
