According to tradition, Rome was founded on April 21, 753 B.C.
Today marks the 2,779th anniversary of the founding of the Eternal City.
“A unique heritage, an extraordinary legacy that the men and women of the Defense have the privilege of protecting and safeguarding every day, helping to ensure its security and preserving its beauty, memory, and most authentic meaning. Because Rome is not just a city: it is an essential part of who we are, of our history, and of our civilization. Happy Birthday, Rome.” So said Minister Guido Crosetto.
