“It’s now 81 years from the Anzio Landing, but the landing of the Allied troops in 1944 continues to be an important as well as painful page of our history, and the history of WWII. How many deaths, how much sacrifice was needed to liberate Italy! Today we honour and recall the Fallen in that landing as well as the following battles, and their sacrifice and the values they fought for. Remembrance is our duty, a bridge between generations to built a peaceful future”.
