A NATO Airborne Early Warning and Control Force (NAEW&CF) aircraft took off from NATO Geilenkirchen (Germany) Air Base for the first Command and Control (C2) operation conducted by an all-female crew.

Captain Béatrice, a Aircrew Training Centre instructor, explained that having an all-women crew, i.e. female pilots, maintenance operators and flight technicians to fly an E-3A AWACS is quite normal.

“Showcasing the capabilities of an all-female crew will prove that women are able to perform the traditionally male-dominated occupations in equal capacity”, said Captain Ciara, Aircrew Training Squadron Simulator Operations Chief.
