A cave blocked by a cave-in, a trapped caver, and a complex rescue operation to support.

In Urzulei, Sardinia, Italian Air Force helicopters were deployed to transport technicians from the National Alpine and Speleological Rescue Corps and the Fire Department to the site, along with the equipment needed for the rescue operation.

In particularly challenging environmental and weather conditions, the crews provided rapid support, while also remaining on standby for a potential medical evacuation.

After more than 26 hours of rescue efforts, the caver was reached by rescuers, freed, and brought to the surface.
