Without hesitation, a Carabiniere dove into the icy waters of the Montone River and rescued a woman, bringing her to shore with the help of a colleague who remained on the riverbank.
The two officers, who responded to a 112 emergency call reporting a woman in a highly agitated state along a road, rescued her when she was already almost completely submerged in the water.
Entrusted to the care of medical personnel, she was immediately transported to the hospital.
Always there, serving the community.

This, too, is defense.
