81st Anniversary of Liberation: “Freedom must be defended every day”
The President of the Republic, Sergio Mattarella, accompanied by the Minister of Defence, Guido Crosetto, laid a laurel wreath at the Altare della Patria as a tribute to all the Fallen, on the occasion of the celebrations for the 81st Anniversary of Liberation.
The ceremony took place in the presence of the highest state officials: the President of the Senate, Ignazio La Russa, the President of the Chamber of Deputies, Lorenzo Fontana, the President of the Council of Ministers, Giorgia Meloni, and the President of the Constitutional Court, Giovanni Amoroso. Also present were the Chief of Defence Staff, General Luciano Portolano, and the military leadership.
Following this, the celebrations continued in San Severino Marche, a city awarded the Gold Medal for Civil Merit, with the laying of a laurel wreath at the Monument to the Fallen of the Resistance and, subsequently, at the Teatro Feronia, with the commemorative ceremony for the 81st Anniversary of Liberation.
At the end of the ceremony, Minister Crosetto moved to the Town Hall of San Severino Marche and paid tribute at the Monument to the Fallen.
