The Minister of Defense, Guido Crosetto, attended the ceremony for the 211th Anniversary of the founding of the Carabinieri Corps.
The ceremony, held in Rome at Piazza di Siena, was also attended by the President of the Senate, Senator Ignazio La Russa, the Chief of Defense Staff, General Luciano Portolano, the Commander General of the Carabinieri Corps, Army Corps General Salvatore Luongo, as well as numerous parliamentary and government officials, members of the judiciary, representatives of the Armed Forces and Police Forces, civil and religious authorities, and delegations from foreign countries.
"When someone sees a Carabinieri vehicle, they recognize the presence of the State with a capital 'S' the kind of State we all wish to see and rely on, a State that provides security. The Carabinieri play a fundamental role in safeguarding and uniting the country: every day, the men and women of the Corps serve with dedication, competence, and a spirit of service, alongside institutions and in protection of citizens.
The uniqueness of the Carabinieri lies in the sense of safety and reassurance they convey: those who encounter them recognize the presence of a fair and impartial State, and feel more protected. Technology is changing, and you are keeping pace, adapting to these changes, and striving to bring the Corps’ tradition into this century.
The Corps is adapting to artificial intelligence, as is the entire Defense sector, and to new technologies, while preserving its core values through the work of each of you."
These were the words of Minister Guido Crosetto during the ceremony for the 211th Anniversary of the Founding of the Carabinieri Corps.
