“47 years from the massacre of Via Fani we pay tribute to the memory of the Servants of the State savagely murdered by the Red Brigades to kidnap Aldo Moro, President of the Christian Democrats. Oreste Leonardi and Domenico Ricci, members of the Carabinieri Corps, and Giulio Rivera, Francesco Zizzi and Raffaele Iozzino, from the State Police, remain a symbol of loyalty and bravery. Their sacrifice is an indelible reminder and example that live on in our memory and our commitment to defend democracy and freedom”.
Thus Defence Minister Guido Crosetto on the occasion of the 47th anniversary of the Via Fani massacre in Rome, where Aldo Moro was kidnapped and his 5 security officers killed.
